“We didn’t get a man on the moon by thinking realistically,” says Kacy Duke, a celebrity fitness trainer. Kacy encourages her clients to shoot for outlandish goals, and then helps them get there. With a background in both dance and athletics (she ran track and field in high school), Kacy uses an emotional, spiritual and physical approach in training her clients, who include hard bodies, such as Orlando Bloom, Lenny Kravitz, and supermodel Iman. “It’s about being healthy and fit, not just about fitting into a bikini,” she says of this all-encompassing approach. In the next year, she is publishing a book (a fitness book with a twist of humor, she explains), increasing her involvement in television, and hitting the lecture circuit. As for attaining such prominence in the fitness world, Kacy believes that authenticity is the key to success. “You gotta be real,” she says. “Love me or hate me, I’m no bullshit.”
