Dr. Carrie Brownstein

Pediatric Oncologist

Dedicating herself to all of her patients everyday is what makes Carrie shine. As a pediatric oncologist at Columbia Presbyterian Children Hospital she helps children fight for their lives. She enjoys her profession because she is able to take care of the child and their family in both medical and social aspects.

Right now she is working to develop a division that focuses on treating cancer survivors, because there isn’t a lot out there for patients in remission. She hopes to devote time and effort for continual follow up in these patients to promote wellness. Brownstein is also working on projects to help whole families get back on track emotionally, physically, and socially after dealing with the trauma of cancer.

“You need to be able to tell people what you want and need in order to be successful, Brownstein said. “You can really be surprised what you can learn from other people if you treat everyone on the same level and learn from everyone.”
