When Connie Francis Avila attended her first concert, she wanted to be a part of Madison Square Garden: “People have a genuine love for this venue,” she says.
Avila credits confidence, networking, and experience, and thanks her mentors who “gave their time and knowledge and nurtured [her] love for this business.”
As the Marketing Director/Concerts and Attractions of Madison Square Garden and Radio City Entertainment, she fosters that public affection by producing events like the sold-out Alicia Keys concert and the Concert for New York City (with performers like Paul McCartney, Bon Jovi, and Gwyneth Paltrow) that benefited victims of 9/11. “We were changing artwork and sending out releases hourly,” she says. “It was crazy, but rewarding.”
